I was never known about what Norse Mythology is? And after reading this book now I have enough information about Norse Mythology. The universe in which the Norse Myths were set was strange, rich, dangerous, deceptive and impermanent. The author has given description about the different Gods and Goddesses, their life, order and beauty in their own world of Asgard. This book is a sampling of the rich and diverse collection of Norse Myths.

The Norse Mythology book I've been looking for! I've read a couple of books on Norse Mythology, the reading frenzy started after I've watched Avengers and Thor so my curiosity has been on an all time high about the Norse gods. The books I've read in the past focused mostly on the gods and goddess, how the world began according to Norse myth and Ragnarok but never about stories about how the gods lived. However, this book just gave me a glimpse on an entirely new view of the Nordic deities and their lives with the humans, their conflicts with the giants, how Loki has numerously tricked the gods by stealing their apples and going back to Jotunheim, the loss of Thor's Mjolnir and what was at stake to have the giants return it to him and all other wonderful stories about the gods and goddess and other important characters in the Norse mythology.

I only knew of Thor, Odin and Loki from the movies. I never knew they had historical significance. I'm glad I took the time to read this book and learn about the Norse gods and myths, because we don't really learn about them in school. Very interesting. I felt like reading comic books minus the pictures! I just wish they included a table of contents to make it easier for me to search for something that I'd like to re-read.
